Jacobs Algebra 1, Chapter 4, Lesson 4 (pg 167), problem 6 (c,d,e)
I don’t understand why the answers are negative.

Because in each case you have a minus sign in front of the fraction.

so – 1/2 is the same as -0.5.

If you put this in the calculator, you need to include the minus sign on the numerator side. So I would put in these keystrokes for -1/2
